BIOGRAPHY
Nayeli Abrego is a New York based singer and actor, known for her deeply moving and compelling stage presence, as well as her soaring and powerful vocals. Her performances are multilingual, and masterful in their stylistic versatility.
NYC concert credits include: Human: A New Ancient Musical (54 Below), and LIC Concerts (Gantry Plaza State Park). Nayeli has also performed a solo tour of El Salvador, where Nayeli performed at venues including El Teatro Nacional, and la Universidad Centroamericana (UCA). Nayeli has vast Canadian concert experience, including Symphony in the Gardens: Broadway Musicals where she performed with the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra (Toronto, ON). Nayeli was a featured vocalist in productions Starbright 2022 and Starbright 2019, at the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia (Petrolia, ON), and at this same venue she was also a featured vocalist and pianist in You've Got a Friend...The Music of Carole King and James Taylor. She showcased her skills as a simultaneous vocalist and pianist in All You Need Is Love...And Rock And Roll by RuBarb Productions (Moose Jaw, SK). Nayeli has also performed as Paula Abdul, Whitney Houston and Irene Cara in 80s Solid Gold 2 at Stage West (Calgary, AB).
Past Canadian theatre credits include Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, where Nayeli played Maria Elena Santiago at the Thousand Islands Playhouse (Gananoque, ON), Western Canada Theatre (Kamloops, BC), Mayfield Dinner Theatre (Edmonton, AB), and New West Theatre (Lethbridge, AB). She was also a featured actor and dancer in The Ghomeshi Effect Tour by Perspective Collective Theatre (touring Ontario and Alberta).
She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance - Music Theatre from NYU Steinhardt.
